For years, Forsyth Tech had been without an active mascot, as the Tech Tiger faded into history. Recognizing the need for a new symbol of school spirit, student government led the charge for a fresh mascot identity—one that would not only energize the campus but also reflect the college’s deep connection to the community.

Through focus groups and brainstorming sessions, the marketing department, in collaboration with students and staff, identified the grey fox as the perfect representation of Forsyth Tech’s values. Indigenous to our region, the grey fox embodies adaptability, intelligence, and resilience—qualities that mirror the college’s commitment to empowering students and serving as a catalyst for equitable economic mobility. From this idea, Blaze was born—a dynamic, two-toned grey fox symbolizing students blazing new trails in their education and careers.

Designed to be both fierce and inspiring, Blaze stands out as one of the few female mascots in the state. Her bold features, including a flame-like tail and striking eyelashes, reflect the strength and determination of Forsyth Tech students. Once the logo was finalized, the team worked with a specialty company to bring Blaze to life as a custom mascot suit. A carefully planned teaser campaign and launch event introduced her to the campus and broader community, where she was met with overwhelming enthusiasm.

Blaze quickly became a beloved symbol of Forsyth Tech, uniting students, faculty, and staff under a shared identity. Her presence paved the way for the next evolution of the Trailblazer brand—leading to the development of a dedicated athletics logo in 2024.
